June 2026 | New Delhi, India: JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity is delighted to announce the
appointment of Chef Saikat Sarkar as its new Executive Pastry Chef. Bringing over 16 years of
distinguished experience across luxury hospitality, Chef Saikat joins the hotel’s culinary
leadership team with a reputation for refined craftsmanship, creative innovation and a passion
for creating exceptional pastry and dessert experiences.
An alumnus of the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Chennai, Chef Saikat began his
culinary journey in 2010 and has since built an accomplished career across Marriott
International and several of the world’s leading luxury hospitality brands, including IHCL (Taj
Hotels), Hyatt Hotels Corporation, The Oberoi Group and Accor. Over the years, he has gained
extensive experience across luxury hotels and destination resorts, developing expertise in
artisan baking, contemporary pastry, fine dining desserts, and luxury banqueting.
Complementing his classical foundation, Chef Saikat also holds a specialised certification in
confectionery from the renowned Macaroon Pastry School, Bangkok.
Known for seamlessly blending classical techniques with contemporary creativity, Chef Saikat’s
expertise spans artisan breads, viennoiserie, modern plated desserts, confectionery and
large-scale luxury banqueting. His commitment to culinary excellence and innovation has
earned him several prestigious accolades, including a Gold Medal at the International Culinary
Challenge & Exhibition organised by Food & Hospitality Asia Maldives, a Bronze Medal in the
Plated Dessert Competition at Hotel & Hospitality Asia Maldives, and first place in the Chef
Competition among South Indian Institute of Hotel Management colleges.
Beyond his technical expertise, Chef Saikat is a collaborative and people-focused leader who
believes in mentoring talent and fostering a culture of creativity, precision and continuous
learning. Having progressed through every stage of the professional kitchen—from industrial
trainee and commis chef to Executive Pastry Chef—he brings a leadership style rooted in
craftsmanship, discipline and a shared pursuit of excellence.
In his new role, Chef Saikat will lead the pastry and bakery operations across JW Marriott New
Delhi Aerocity’s acclaimed culinary destinations, including K3 – New Delhi’s Food Theatre, Adrift Kaya, Delhi Baking Company, JW Lounge, Cabanas, as well as the hotel’s extensive banquet and catering operations. Working closely with the Director of Culinary, he will oversee the development of innovative seasonal menus, signature desserts, artisanal breads andbespoke pastry creations that enhance the dining experience across each venue. He will also play a key role in curating exceptional pastry experiences for luxury weddings, celebrations and high-profile events, further strengthening the hotel’s reputation as one of the capital’s leading culinary and hospitality destinations.
